Ryan Schneider honors Mother Nature and raw materials across his painted canvases and sculptures. His works reflect the idyllic ecosystem of Joshua Tree, California, where he lives and works, as well as tree spirit mythology and German Expressionism. Schneider’s angular sculptures also celebrate the wilderness; their sharp forms and vibrant hues make subtle nods to the gentle and primal elements of the natural world. Throughout his meditative work, Schneider also makes references to various forms of spirituality and cultural customs, from pre-Christian traditions and Shintoism to Polynesian Tiki and Native American art forms. Schneider holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and his work is held in esteemed public and private collections across the world, including the Hall Art Foundation and the Bank of America Collection.
